Treats You Can't Ignore
Kaizen Brand Evolution were engaged by Freak Treats, previously 'Yoggie Berrie' to create a new Brand Identity, Logo and Name. The task was to reposition the identity to be more inline with their offering, whilst not loosing the original charm of their brand that is so well known across Belfast.
The Brand Identity created for Freak Treats was bespoke to their business and representative of how their brand wanted to be seen in their respective market. The colours chosen for Freak Treats are bright, almost neon candy pink and blue. These colours compliment each other and imply sweetness and joy all while being in-your face and impossible to ignore. These colours are well suited next to the photography of bright treats as well as being recognisable from meters away. The recognition of these colours particularly come into play with the takeaway material i.e doughnut boxes, coffee cups, ice cream tubs, and company van.
Use of Typography
The typeface used for the wordmark and throughout the brand direction is bold, geometric, and modern. The typeface is a thick sans serif paired with the lighter weight of the same for legibility and hierarchy. This typeface lends itself nicely to the geometric black box when drawn around it i.e headers and tagline, without interfering with the linear shape. The typeface also allows for abstract shapes and patterns to be used in any form while remaining balanced.
